The concept is simple. Participating businesses will donate 10% of each Hall Pass purchase made on September 24 to participating Downers Grove schools. The donations will be divided evenly among the schools, but there is an added incentive to get your school community involved.
The school with the best attendance will receive an additional $250 donation, while the second- and third-place schools will receive $100 in Downtown Downers Grove Gift Cards.
Every person counts toward a school's attendance, and purchases made with Hall Passes count toward the donations. Each participating school needs at least 10 people represented in order to qualify for the funds.
This year's participating schools include:
So whether you're shopping for yourself, grabbing dinner with friends or simply looking for an excuse for a night out, your participation can help your local school.
There is a long list of participating Downtown Downers Grove businesses, giving you plenty of options to build your own evening.
Participating businesses include Anderson's Bookshop, Cadence Kitchen, Cellar Door, Costello Jewelry Company, Dariusz Jewelers, Entourage, Evelyn Jane Boutique, Gatto's Restaurant & Bar, Orange & Brew, Pierce Tavern, The Foxtail, The Paper Peony, Wells Street Popcorn and many others.
You could make an evening of it by starting with some shopping, stopping for dinner or drinks, and checking out some of the unique local businesses along the way. Downtown Downers Grove's walkable business district makes it easy to visit multiple businesses during one outing.
Hall Passes will be available through your school's PTA, PTO, HSA or Parent Forum, as well as through participating businesses and the Downtown Downers Grove event page. Be sure to turn in a Hall Pass with each purchase so your purchase can count toward the school donations.
And remember, attendance matters. If you want your school to have a chance at the additional $250 prize, bring your friends, neighbors and fellow parents along.
Events like this are a great reminder of what makes Downtown Downers Grove such a special part of our community. You can enjoy an evening out, support locally owned businesses and help raise money for schools at the same time.
So grab your friends, round up your fellow parents and make plans for Ladies Day & Night Out on September 24. Your shopping and dining can make a difference right here in the Downers Grove community.
