The 2026 concert series runs on Tuesdays starting June 9th and ending August 11, 2026.
Concerts are held at:
Veterans Memorial Pavilion in Fishel Park
1036 Grove Street, Downers Grove, IL
Gates and food service typically begin in the early evening with music starting later in the evening. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to get a good spot on the lawn.
Each concert features a different band with a mix of music styles including rock, pop, blues, funk, and classic party covers. The lineup changes weekly, giving residents a variety of entertainment throughout the summer.
The concerts are designed to be family friendly and welcoming to all ages. It is common to see groups of friends, families with children, and neighbors gathering to enjoy the atmosphere.
Food and beverages are available for purchase at the park starting before each concert. Offerings vary but typically include classic summer concert food and drink options.
Guests are also allowed to bring their own food and non alcoholic beverages. Many attendees bring picnic blankets, coolers, and chairs to create their own setup for the evening.
Alcohol policies are managed by the Park District and outside alcohol is not permitted.
To make the most of the experience, most attendees bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Some also bring small tables, snacks, and bug spray depending on the weather.
Comfortable clothing is recommended since seating is on the grass and the event is outdoors.
Parking is available on surrounding streets near Fishel Park as well as in nearby public parking areas in downtown Downers Grove. Because concerts are popular, arriving early is recommended to find convenient parking and a good viewing spot.
All concerts are weather dependent. In the case of severe weather, events may be delayed or canceled for safety. It is a good idea to check the Park District website or social channels before heading out if weather is uncertain.
The Concerts in the Park series has become a staple of summer life in Downers Grove. It is more than just music. It is a community event that brings people together in a relaxed outdoor setting.
For many residents, it is a weekly tradition that highlights what makes Downers Grove such a desirable place to live, including strong community involvement, family friendly activities, and an active local park system.
Whether you are a longtime resident or new to the area, the Downers Grove Park District Concerts in the Park series is one of the best ways to enjoy summer evenings locally. Bring a chair, bring a picnic, and enjoy live music with neighbors all season long.
